Muehltal, 17th December 2013 – At the Tire Technology Expo in Cologne (February 11 – 13, 2014) REA JET shows solutions for every stage of tire manufacturing. The presented systems for rubber marking lead to an optimization of the entire production chain. Innovations such as the Rubber Printing System (RPS) reduce waste in production, increase efficiency and cut costs.

REA JET is a longstanding partner of the tire industry and has developed a product range that allows the variable and contact-free marking of all components from raw rubber felt across rubber tread to finished tires. Marking with codes and alphanumeric text in particular helps to control the flow of unfinished goods in the factory down to delivery. Internal as well as external logistics are improved same way.

In addition to 1D Barcodes the 2D Codes are gaining more and more acceptance. 2D-Codes, also called Datamatrix codes, offer significant advantages over 1D Codes. 2D Codes need less space for the same amount of information in comparison with a 1D Code. Further to that 2D Codes show a much greater fault tolerance. With the REA JET Large Character Ink Jet Printer REA has a robust and sustainable system in its portfolio, which is suitable to contact-free print variable Datamatrix codes onto rubber products.

With RPS REA JET has a marking solution for disappearing ink available for the rubber processing industry. It is used to mark on rubber tread. The specially developed REA JET water-based ink meets the high requirements of the tire industry. The reliable and environmentally friendly ink is free of volatile organic compounds (VOC free). It disappears completely during the vulcanization process and leaves no traces on the finished tire or in the vulcanization mold.

The RPS system can be controlled from the production master computer. This allows change of print texts during batch changes without stopping the production and without intervention on site, such as the exchange of embossing punches. This is time-saving and eliminates the risk of errors.

REA JET coding and marking solutions can be found on each production stage of tire manufacturing. They reduce manual interventions and thus support the automation of all processes. The result is a higher product quality, reduction of costs and an increased safety in tire manufacturing.
